Add, Edit or Remove Homepage Banners

  • Updated

Learn how to manage homepage banners in the iMotor CMS, including adding dealership banners, updating banner links, changing banner order, and removing or restoring brand banners.

Understanding Brand & Dealership Banners

Brand Banners

Brand banners are managed at a manufacturer or brand level and are shared across multiple dealership sites. They help maintain consistent messaging, campaigns, and branding throughout the dealer network. While the banner artwork cannot be edited at a dealership level, you can:

  • Update the click-through URL
  • Remove the banner from your website if it isn't relevant to your dealership

Dealership Banners

Dealership banners are managed specifically for your website and are ideal for promoting:

  • Local events
  • Dealership offers
  • Special campaigns
  • Dealership-specific content

Dealership banners can be fully customised. However, banner dimensions and requirements can vary by brand and are controlled at the brand level. Always check the recommended specifications before uploading banner artwork.

Add, Remove or Edit Brand Banners

Remove or Restore a Brand Banner

To remove a brand banner from your website, drag it from the active banner area (top) into the Brand Banners section (bottom).

To restore a brand banner, drag it back into the active banner (dealership banners) area.

Update a Brand Banner Link

Brand banner links are often configured at the brand level. However, you can override the destination URL if you would like visitors to be directed to a different page.

You can link to:

  • An internal page on your website (stock, contact us, etc.)
  • An external website

The edit pencil for a brand banner will only be visible when it is moved into the dealership banners area

Add, Remove or Edit Dealership Banners

Configure Banner Details

Select Add Dealership Banner or click the Edit (pencil) icon next to an existing banner.

From here you can:

  • Enter a Working Title (visible only within the CMS)
  • Add a Heading
  • Add a Subheading
  • Set Start and End Dates to schedule the banner automatically
  • Add an internal or external link
  • Select a light or dark text colour for the banner content

Tip: Using start and end dates is a great way to schedule promotions and campaigns in advance.

Adding Banner Media

When adding or editing a dealership banner, you can choose to:

  • Upload an image
  • Upload a video
  • Embed a video from YouTube or another supported source

Important: Check the recommended dimensions and file requirements before uploading media to ensure it displays correctly.

For the best experience across all devices, we strongly recommend uploading both desktop and mobile versions of your banner.

Add a Call-to-Action Button

To display a button on your banner:

  1. Open the Call to Action tab.
  2. Click Add a CTA.

From here you can add:

  • A working title
  • An internal or external link
  • Button text (for example, Discover More, Learn More, or Book Now)

You can also choose an icon from the available library if required.

Activate or Deactivate Your Banner

When creating a new dealership banner, make sure the Active toggle is enabled.

If you no longer want a banner displayed on your website, simply toggle it off. The banner will remain saved within the CMS and can be reactivated later.

Publish Your Changes (Build & Deploy)

After saving your updates, navigate to Start Build and click Build & Deploy to publish your changes to the website.

If you have additional CMS updates to make, we recommend completing them first so you can publish everything at once.

Please note: Website updates may take a short time to appear after publishing.
